Begitulah halnya bila aku mendengar teman blogger Dr. Raihan dan suami, bakal Dr Rusdi yang datang bersama bakal Dr. Aishah dan Fadli serta anak-anak mereka yang tinggal di Sheffield, England akan datang ke Istanbul pada minggu lepas. Pagi-pagi lagi aku sudah bersiap sedia dengan nasi lemak, ikan bilis goreng, telur rebus, sambal tetapi ayam goreng tertinggal sebelum berangkat dek sibuk dengan Sooty.... Mulled wine with steak and mash - it doesn't get better than this
Wasn't exactly sure what to have for dinner last night so we decided on steak and mashed potatoes. Then I had the bright idea of trying out the mulled wine sachet I got from London - got a bottle of Isabella wine for that. :P The steak was good. A little more well done than I would've liked but I'm not complaining. :P Marinaded with salt, pepper, Worchestershire sauce and red wine, it tasted delicious when pan-grilled and combined with Bearnaise sauce. Simply exquisite. Mashed potatoes were by far, the best I've tasted. We happened to buy some relatively more expensive potatoes at the market and that made all the difference. It was light, fluffy and oh so wonderful. The mulled wine... Now that, was excellent. I dumped the red wine and the contents of the sachet into the saucepan and heated it up until near boiling and then poured it out into mugs. It made me think of Christmas! LOL.
